Chan Koonchung was born in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong. He has previously written many works of fictions and non­fiction in Chinese. His first novel translated into English The Fat Years is now available in 14 languages worldwide. His second novel The Unbearable Dreamworld of Champa the Driver was published by Transworld UK.
